How to Apply to Abu Dhabi University

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) offers a fully online application process open to domestic and international students year-round. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and decisions are typically communicated within 2–4 weeks of submission.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Create an account on the ADU Admissions Portal and verify your email address.
Select your program — choose your desired college, major, and study level (Undergraduate or Postgraduate).
Upload required documents — all files must be in PDF or JPG format, under 2 MB each.
Pay the application fee — a non-refundable fee of AED 200 is required to process your application.
Submit your application — you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.
Track your status — log back into the portal at any time to monitor your application progress.

English Proficiency Requirements

All non-native English speakers must submit proof of English proficiency:

IELTS Academic: Minimum overall score of 6.0 (no individual band below 5.5)
TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 79
EmSAT English: Minimum score of 1100 (for UAE-based applicants)

Students who completed their secondary or higher education at an accredited English-medium institution may apply for an English proficiency waiver, subject to documentation review by the Admissions Committee.

Admission Decisions

ADU issues three types of admission decisions:

Unconditional Offer: All requirements are met — you may proceed with enrollment.
Conditional Offer: Issued pending receipt of final results or documents.
Waitlist: Competitive programs may place eligible applicants on a waitlist pending seat availability.

If your application is unsuccessful, you may submit a written appeal to the Admissions Office within 14 calendar days of receiving the decision.

Transfer Students

ADU welcomes transfer applicants from other accredited institutions. To be considered, transfer students must meet the following conditions:

Minimum CGPA of 2.5 / 4.0 from the previous institution
Official transcripts issued directly by the sending institution (sealed and stamped)
Courses must align with ADU's curriculum — credit transfer is evaluated by the relevant college and is not guaranteed
A minimum of 60 credit hours must be completed at ADU to qualify for an ADU degree
